What does EPC stand for in Solar Power?
AUSTIN, TEXAS, March 5, 2024 — Axis Solar, a leading commercial solar power provider headquartered in Austin, announced today that it expects to install ~20 mW of energy in Texas throughout 2024. This is in addition to its recent growth of ~10mW installed in 2023. From rooftop solar arrays to ground mounts, Axis Solar has completed over a dozen commercial projects in the state. It expects to complete 8-10 commercial projects across Texas this year.
“We’re excited to have picked up momentum and are continuing to see an eagerness from customers who want to secure affordable and reliable energy through these commercial installations,” said Graeme Walker, CEO and Co-Founder of Axis Solar. “Our goal is to help customers navigate installing these expansive projects with our track record, expertise and tailored approach to each customer so that they can achieve reliable renewable energy they need today.”
Paloma Ridge, the largest behind-the-meter solar project in Austin produced by Axis Solar and Radial Power, was completed in 2023 and offers carport and rooftop arrays. The project’s renewable energy will offset more than 3,400 metric tons of CO2 annually.
“We’re proud to have played a crucial role in such a significant project that brings sustainable energy solutions to the region. The Paloma Ridge solar project helps Austin Energy’s goal of harnessing clean energy while also contributing to our vision of a sustainable future,” said John Bates, CEO of Radial Power.
In addition to the Paloma Ridge project, Axis Solar has other Austin-based projects it recently completed including Encino Trace and Lakeline. Lakeline will host a nearly 1.5mW solar rooftop array installation on a parking complex with additional carport arrays and expects to offset approximately 1,415 metric tons of CO2 annually. It has already received Austin Energy’s rebate approval.
“Engaging with utilities like Austin Energy can significantly accelerate the installation of projects like Paloma Ridge,” said Axis Solar’s Chief Operating Officer David Starr. “Incentive programs, like the ones Austin Energy offers, will help bring more clean energy offerings to Austin customers and show Austin Energy’s commitment to the City of Austin’s sustainability goals.”
Axis Solar looks forward to continuing to help the region prioritize renewable energy by building commercial solar arrays that provide long-term value for its customers.
“Our projects can serve as an example for the industry for efficient, cost-effective and reliable projects so that we can scale this valuable energy resource this region desires and needs to achieve its sustainability goals,” said Walker.
