Due to continued growth, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Commercial Project Manager to join our Development & Construction team in Austin.

As a Project Manager you will be assigned top tier, large-scale commercial solar projects. You will integrate with our construction, estimating/engineering, and sales departments to successfully deliver completed projects. The ideal applicant will have a demonstrated track record leading Commercial Construction Projects. Experience with solar rooftop, ground mount and carport installation types highly desired.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assume primary leadership responsibilities for each assigned project.
- Work with sales and other internal groups to determine the proper bid strategy.
- Assess scope of work, schedule, and resources necessary to successfully complete a project.
- Work with engineering and electrical team to review and refine initial system designs.
- Participate in pre-construction site visits and advise on factors affecting project delivery.
- Responsible for all financial reporting, tracking and projection of all labor, material, job expense, and changes for each project assigned.
- Consults with clients, vendors, foremen, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Estimate changes for addendums on projects.
- Represent the company in project meetings.
- Develop project construction installation timeline and budget.
- Ensure company safety policies are adhered to on site and lead timely safety talks as appropriate.
- Ensure projects are constructed in adherence to developed construction documents and in accordance with applicable local codes/standards.
- Ensure that the appropriate QA/QC processes are established and maintained for the project.
- Responsible for timely procurement and delivery of components.
- Deliver weekly project and construction updates to senior management and clients.
- Manage all financial aspects of contracts (costs, billings, and collection) to maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow while simultaneously maintaining a good relationship with the client.
- Monthly financial projections for each project assigned.
Education and Experience
- 5+ years of extensive experience/knowledge of trade-specific contracting, constructing design, finance and management
- 2+ years of commercial electrical construction experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated track record of successful delivery of projects
- BSEE or Construction Management preferred, high school diploma required.
- OSHA 30 (must be completed within first 6 months of employment)
- NABCEP strongly preferred
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of project accounting, estimating, scheduling, purchasing
- Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Bluebeam, and Accubid.
- Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
- Strong Communication Skills, both written and verbal
- Impeccable organizational / time Management skills and attention to Detail are a must.
- Supervisory skills
- Demonstrated experience of operating safe job sites
- Possess a current driving license
- Ability to pass a background check
Base pay will be set according to experience.

Physical Demands: Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
